Reflections – the game of the shadows is a collage of paper-cut outs, textile prints and knitting installations. The thematic comes from abstract images of water; from frozen to melted water from still to running water. On the surface of the water the shadows play their game. Most of the images have been taken in Northern Finland, where the rapid changes of seasons dominate the changes of light.

The shapes of the black and white paper-cut outs have transformed into colorful textile prints and this transformation process led to the knitting installation. As a consequence, the collage is characterized by the metamorphosis of the almost minimalistic expression of the original black and white images into colorful dance on the textile. The lights and shadows are never stable in Northern nature, where the four seasons with dark winters and midnight summer sun dominate their existence.
